Its pretty good

I originally bought this because my teacher had the first one and out class used it like crazy. its a great book and has a lot of information that most people wouldn't necessarily think about and a lot of information that you just cant find anywhere else. i wish it was geared a little more to the NKBA side of things as well as having a little larger font. when youve been staring at the screen all day that tiny font is hard to see. :)

Every Interior Designer should have one.

Commerical Interor Designers---Must Have This

As a professional commercial interior designer I have found this book to be excellent. There is wealth of information and is easy to locate in the book. The code section is streamlined and contains the 2009 IBC sections. The cost estimating section makes it easy to get preliminary cost for the client so they have an understanding of costs and can make decisions on what is affordable. Highly recommended must have for all commercial interior designers.

I don’t know about your house (or more specifically your reading habits) but in my house I have two very distinct reading seasons.

Cold weather = serious books.
Hot weather = easy reads.

It’s not that I’m opposed to switching it up a bit (I have been known to dive into some fairly serious books during the spring/summer months) but not all that often.

Why?

Because when the weather heats up, my life morphs into a weird alternate reality. My kids break from school. We spend an exorbitant amount of time around the pool (or on the road) and my level of concentration decreases. Reading something like…say…high fantasy while trying to keep an eye on my kids (so they don’t drown) is difficult. I’ll lose my place, or have to reread a passage multiple times to remember what was happening. (Boo.)

That’s exactly why books like Jen Meyers’ “Happily Ever After” are so important to me. Though they are predictable, and often repetitive (which is the case in HEA) they are also cute, easy to read, and always end on an up-note. (No one wants to read about death and dismemberment while chilling on a beach in Maui. That is what one would call: a major bummer.) But, I digress…

Like I said above, this book is a tad predictable, but…that’s ok. When I pick up something like HEA, I’m not looking for a life altering plot. I want an entertaining one. That is exactly what Meyers’ story delivered. Easy breezy entertainment.

Everly (who’s name is actually shortened to Ever in the story; I’ll give you a second to process the semblance behind that.) has done the unthinkable. She horizontal mambo’d the world’s most notorious man-whore. Said man-whore (who’s name is actually Austin) just so happens to be the brother of her best-friend. Now, insert a bunch of obvious plot points here…and you get the drift. Things are about to get incredibly awkward for Everly.

It’s not the plot though that had me flipping pages, it was the characters. They are what actually make this book work. Everly and Austin are surrounded by a bunch of coo-coo birds. (Said with love of course.) There’s the business woman, the hippie, the promiscuous one. There’s the intolerable mother-in-law, She-Devil boss lady, and the King of Douchbagery Land himself…the groom. They each play a part in the eventual climax of the story, and they do so in very fascinating ways. (ie: naked yoga, or…becoming members of the mile-high club.) Without them the story would feel flat. Everly alone is a very boring character, she is 100% focused on work and denial. The same could be said for Austin. His focus lies heavily on trying to prove to Everly what type of man he is, not moving the story along. Which means it’s up to the supporting cast to drive the pace.

Now, I could keep going…point out exactly what didn’t work and what did, but I think I’ve said enough to get my point across (without spoiling the whole book.)

“Happily Ever After” is a beach read. It’s what you download on your kindle or throw in your bag when you are racing out of the house. It’s not overly serious (though, admittedly..there were a few touching moments) and can be read in a few hours. The plot is not going to surprise you (even the twist at the end isn’t too hard to guess) but that doesn’t detract from it’s fun laid back intent.

If you want an easy read, or even a happy one, this is the book for you. Think of it as a Harlequin without a swoony dude on the front cover.

Best author you can count On! I promise! Please read!

OMG! This was one of the best follow-up novels that I have ever read. First I read the prequel, Happily Ever Now and I was immediately pulled into this book that I couldn't wait to read Happily Ever After. I read the book in about two hours and it was AWESOME! The characters became even more complex as the book went along. I can't tell you enough how much I enjoyed these two books. I was disappointed that Happily Ever Now ended so quickly but it did exactly what it was designed to do-pull the reader in. I couldn't wait to read this and I am so happy to be one of Jen Meyers ARC Readers, I was able to obtain this two books for free for my honest review in exchange. I have to say that I ave never read a book by Jen Meyers that was bad. Jen is definitely an author that delivers every single time you read a new book. Since receiving Happily Ever Now and Happily Ever After, I have already read both books twice. I absolutely LOVED these books and I hope that you will give Jen Meyer books a chance. She will not let you down, she has been rock steady in her writing and delivers new and exciting reads as soon as she possibly can. I can't wait to read another one of Jen's books and I really hope that you give this book a chance...I promise you will enjoy it!

I enjoyed the story but the language was too raunchy for me. I would like a version without the gutter language. Jen Meyers is a gifted story teller. Probably the book is for a younger reader.

Great Novella for an awesome series

I would highly recommend you read Façade and Cadence before you start this novella. I think you could read it alone but you would be missing out on so much history and emotions without the first two novels. For those of us who devoured Façade and Cadence, we were left wondering what happen to Jenson and Blue after the dramatic event happened. The authors gave us their story, where they went, how they handled the trauma and where they end up in life.

Blue was unbelievably tortured and left for dead. Trying to recover from that would seem impossible to any normal person, but Blue did heal physically. Mentally took much longer and she ran away from her friends, her life and Jenson, the man who killed for her. You are going to watch as Blue tries to live a life that is safe, with protection, distant from which she used to be and in paralyzing misery. She is without the one who made her feel alive and happy, the man who gave her life meaning.

Jenson tries to move on. Blue left him, after all he had done for her, and she just disappeared. He keeps the band going, writes songs about his soul mate that is missing. Nothing will help him get over the actions he took to seek revenge for Blue. He can’t stop the nightmares, but he doesn’t regret what he did. When the brick wall comes crashing down on him, he is confronted with not only his worst nightmare, but also his wish he dared to dream. What do you do with both despair and hope come crashing in on a person at the same time?

I loved this series, the novella is great as well, but I felt it missed the intensity that the first two books had. I know I shouldn’t expect the same level of action and emotions, but even when we were reading about what Blue actually endured, I felt more distant to the scene than I did in the first two books. Now just because I say this, please don’t assume it isn’t worth the read because it IS. I needed to know what happen to those two after the dust had settled and the other characters went back to their lives. If you are into dark, twisted and intense plots then pick up all three of these books and buckle up for an epic ride into the dark minds of evil monsters and the strong survivors willing to fight back.

Ker and Dawn have done it again and do not disappoint. These two incredible and talented authors are a powerful team and work amazing together and keep coming out with 5+ Star Reads!

This is a Novella from the Deception Series and should be read after FaCade and Cadence. A perfect follow up to amazing characters Blue and Jenson and we even get more of Cade and Faye.
It continues on from Cadence and is a page turner and had me hooked and feeling the emotions they were going through and had you fighting and rooting for them both. Then I was all giddy and excited at the end and was cracking up when everyone knew what was going on and Blue thought she was " looking at a security problem " poor guy had a shock...lol

I definitely recommend the Deception series and can't wait for more from these wonderful authors!

What a surprise! Blue & Jensen's story.

If you haven't read Facade & Cadence I beg you to! This series will truly blow you away with it's plot twists and deception. In the previous books we meet Blue & Jensen and get a small glimpse at them and the lengths one goes to for love and revenge.

"We all have demons my dear. It's how you choose to fight them that matters."

Tormented by the acts he's committed and the loss that he feels, Jensen is spiralling out of control. Blue's absence leaves him hollow. Trying to fill the black void inside with any poison he can.

Blue is seeking an end that never came... forgetting about who she used to be is one thing, but forgetting about what she's lost and what was stolen from her is impossible, and tormenting..

The overpowering amount of love Blue and Jensen have for one another is soul crushing. While damaged their story is inspiring. This may be one of my favorite books from D.H. Sidebottom& Ker Dukey. These ladies have such a talent for making you feel... with their ability to create such pain and love it's no surprise that this is yet another five star read. When they work together, the end result, is nothing less than brilliant!

About the Author

Megyn Kelly currently serves as anchor of Fox News Channel s The Kelly File. Throughout her tenure with Fox News Channel, Kelly has covered breaking news and reported on location. Before joining Fox News, Kelly served as a general assignment reporter for WJLA-TV (ABC 7) in Washington, DC, where she covered national and local stories of interest. Prior to her career in television news, Kelly practiced law for nine years, seven years as a corporate litigator at Jones Day and was an associate for two years in the Chicago office of the law firm Bickel & Brewer LLP. She lives in New York with her husband and children.

As a fan I ended up questioning her intentions for writing this book.

I'm a fan of Megyn Kelly but I have to say that this book is not worth your time or money. I thought I would end up liking her more after reading this, but I ended up questioning whether her intentions for writing this were merely for personal gain. Some of her allegations were too far fetched and did not sound authentic, especially because she waited to reveal these situations until her book debut. If you watch the Kelly File, you know that Megyn isn't afraid to ask the tough questions and to challenge others, so I would expect her to blow the whistle on these incidents early on if they were true. Wish I could have rated this higher, but I really expected more.

Amazing drawings and a soul-capturing plot

I have been a fan of Joe for so long now and I was extremely happy to know that he was putting out his first graphic novel. Upon receiving this novel, I was extremely surprised yet intrigued by the general summary and wondrous cover artwork. The thing is once I started reading I couldn't put it down. This genre of graphic novels is not what I usually go for but this one is an exception. Joe's graphic novel is simply inspiring. It is filled with deep thoughts that help convey to young readers that they will always be loved by someone. All of the longtime Sugglets and even those new subscribers will definitely be able to notice the small details of Evie's life that corresponds to Joe's life. Just read and find out what. Overall, I highly recommend this to all those who are in need of a comforting hand or even those seeking a thrill in life.

One of the best graphic novels EVER!

I love graphic novels and I had no clue what this book was going to be about. I mainly bought it because it was written by Joe Sugg. After I read it, I thought it was AMAZING, if you are a computer nerd, outcast, or just plain wierd, this is the graphic novel for you! Highly recommend this to anyone who is thinking of getting it!

About the Author

Dr. Simon Monk has a degree in Cybernetics and Computer Science and a PhD in Software Engineering. Simon spent several years as an academic before he returned to industry, co-founding the mobile software company Momote Ltd. He has been an active electronics hobbyist since his early teens. Simon is author of a number of hobby electronics books including '30 Arduino Projects for the Evil Genius', '15 Dangerously Mad Projects for the Evil Genius' and 'Arduino + Android Projects for the Evil Genius'.

Very helpful book for those new to RPi, but content is pretty limited

Despite the other RPi guidebooks available, I specifically waited for Raspberry Pi Cookbook to become available. As someone who learned to code with an Arduino, I found O'Reilly's Arduino Cookbook a completely necessary aid for a coding noob like myself. My hope was that Simon Monk's book would match the quality of Arduino Cookbook.

This book is written in a clear language and answers any and all questions you may have about getting started, programming in Python, or interfacing your RPi with other doodads. For that, I like it.

I gave this book 4 stars because it did not have the same depth and initiative as the Arduino Cookbook. Several bits of the book have paragraphs that were robotically copied and pasted, and recipes so not go any further than answering the question in as minimal of a way. Though I have my own RPi projects planned, I was hoping this book would inspire some new ideas, which it has not.

Bottom line, I recommend this book for someone who is foreign to RPi or just looking for a quick reference. Otherwise, I'd further research other RPi books or work through the online community.

This is the one to get

This is the one book to get to start seriously using your pi.
I've gone through a few others. They're full of fluff.
I've got bookmarks on pages for network connections, raspicam setup, serial interface. Every time I configure a new SD card I refer to those pages.
Also great primer on Python programming, although I didn't look to closely at that, being a software developer already.
Nice section on Linux, too. Could have gone slightly deeper, but that's just me. There's enough here to show you how to do a lot.
A section on the GPIO is robust also. More on that later, as I haven't looked at that part too closely yet.

This is the first edition of a great Pi resource. Get the second.

Thought I was getting the about-to-be-released second edition. My bad, but really should have been stated more clearly (like Amazon does for most products) in the description.

Still, Monk (as always) has delivered a great book here. If you're getting into the Pi (and if you're not, why?), this is a great book to have by your side. Not too big to use as a fly swatter and not too small to be useful for it's primary task of getting folks excited about the Pi. You are excited, right? Right?

There ya go. Get this book - but get the second edition. I'm going to end up having both. Grrr.
